Terms of Service
Last updated: August 2026
By using AfroConnect, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. “Platform” means AfroConnect; “Vendor” means a business that lists on the platform; “Shopper” means anyone browsing or buying.
The platform is a venue, not a seller
AfroConnect is a marketplace that connects shoppers with independent vendors. We are not a party to the contract of sale between you and a vendor. Vendors are responsible for their products, fulfillment, and compliance — the platform helps list and process payments but does not itself sell the goods or services shown.
Accounts
- You must be at least 16 years old and legally able to enter contracts.
- Provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure.
- You are responsible for activity under your account.
Vendor responsibilities
- You must be authorized to sell the items or services you list, and hold any required licenses.
- Keep listings, prices, and inventory accurate; set shipping and return policies consistent with our Refund Policy.
- Fulfill orders on time, respond to customers, and remit any applicable taxes.
- Paid plans (Basic, Grow, Advanced) are billed monthly as shown on the pricing page; fees are in CAD.
Prohibited listings
You may not list anything illegal, counterfeit, hazardous, restricted, or that infringes another party’s rights. We may remove listings, cancel orders, or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.
Payments
Payments are processed securely through Stripe Connect. For paid-plan vendors, the platform collects checkout payments and releases payouts to vendors per its published payout rules, which may withhold a processing commission. Shoppers’ statutory consumer rights are not affected by how we route payments.
Shipping & fulfillment
Vendors own fulfillment and shipping. AfroConnect provides rate and label tooling, but the vendor is responsible for getting orders to the shopper and for any shipping disputes.
Returns & refunds
Returns are governed by our Refund Policy, vendor store policies, and applicable Canadian consumer-protection law.
Intellectual property
Site branding, layout, and original content are owned by AfroConnect. Listing content remains owned by or licensed to the vendor, who grants us a license to display it on the marketplace. Scraping or automated copying of the site is not permitted.
Acceptable use
Don’t use AfroConnect to commit fraud, harass others, interfere with the service, or misuse data. Violations may result in suspension without notice and, where appropriate, referral to authorities.
Disclaimers & liability
The service is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent allowed by law, AfroConnect is not liable for the conduct of vendors or the quality of their goods and services, or for indirect or incidental damages. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is capped at the fees (if any) you paid us in the previous 12 months.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify AfroConnect for claims arising from your listings, conduct, or breach of these Terms.
Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose a risk to the platform.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the Province of Ontario. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario, and you waive any class-action proceeding to the extent permitted by law.
Changes
We may update these Terms; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Please review them periodically.
